Doodle Stitching by Aimee Ray- sort of a book review

doodlestitchingI picked up this book at my craft store recently. Cutesy isn’t typically my favorite thing when it comes to embroidery (subversive, nerd-tastic, and band-related are more my steez)- but I just could not resist the pages and pages of woodland animal and gnome motifs (and whimsical fruits, veggies, and flowers, gah).

About half of the book is basic stitch tutorials and projects, and the rest is motifs (400+ to be exact). It even comes with  a CD so you can re-size the motifs on your computer and print them out for transferring to fabric.

The very first thing I stitched was the little gnome and a shroom. Then I completed this lovely tree which has a few branches dedicated to each of the seasons:

If cutesy is (or even if it isn’t)- check this book out!

Available in bookstores, craft stores, or of course your big box online retailer!
